CLACS now accepting applications for graduate field research grants

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

The Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies (CLACS) offers Field Research Grants to support pre-dissertation graduate student research in Latin America and the Caribbean. Awards are typically between $500 and $2,500 each, depending on travel costs to the research site and the availability of funds. Intended for first-time research in a country the applicant has not previously visited, the awards can only be used to cover airfare, in-country transportation expenses, and some limited subsistence and research expenses. Travel expenses should comprise 75% of the project’s budget.

The Center's Field Research Grants are made possible by the Tinker Foundation together with KU matching funds. The Tinker Foundation promotes the development of an equitable, sustainable and productive society in Latin America and seeks to enhance understanding of the region in the U.S.A.

Application Deadline: February 26, 2015
