Pan American Seminar Featuring James Malouff III and Kirwin Shaffer (Public Event)

The Pan-American seminar will be hosting KU faculty, graduate students and invited speakers to present on various topics pertinent to the Americas. Some of the disciplines covered are environmental studies, film, sociology, geography and history. The seminar is aimed at promoting awareness of the many diverse disciplines of research inside of Latin America studies, as well as major issues and potential opportunities associated with studying the region. Invited speakers include Kirwin Shaffer, Associate Professor of Latin American Studies at Penn State University and James Malouff III, President of the Pan American Society of Kansas City. KU speakers include Prof. Peter Herlihy (Geography), Prof. John Hoopes (Anthropology), Prof. Tamara Falicov (Film & Media Studies), Dr. Peter Haney (Latin American and Caribbean Studies), and Ms. Carolina Pardo-Torres (Graduate Student, Educational Technologies).
