Registration for Allyship with Undocumented Immigrants
Responsible “allyship” requires solidarity and action. As conditions around the country worsen for undocumented immigrants, many are feeling the call to help but don’t know where to start. Here in Lawrence, there are resources to help and places to volunteer, but where to find them?
To answer this question, the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies is hosting “Allyship with Undocumented Immigrants: A Community Workshop” on Wednesday, September 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M. at the Spencer Museum of Art, 1301 Mississippi St., Lawrence, KS 66045. Spacing is limited. Reserve a seat for yourself, or other “allies-in-training,” at clacs.ku.edu/Allyship-Registration by September 18, 2019. On-site registration will be available.
This workshop is for our community and open to all. The subject matter, including case studies and other examples, will be of particular interest to those who are affiliated with education settings, so we extend a particular invitation to educators and students.
